I have about 25 engines programed in DecoderPro on my laptop and would like to copy them to my desktop PC. Where are the files kept/stored and how can I transfer all this info to the other computer? I looked using Windows Explorer and can't seem to find anything?

What version of Windows?
With XP, it should be C:\Documetns and Settings\<your user name>\JMRI\roster.xm and the files under the Roster folder there.
With Vista/7 it would be C:\Users\<your user name>\JMRI, same as above for the file and folder.
This assumes you didn't change the file locations in the preferences settings of JMRI.
I believe all you need to copy are the files in the Roster folder, and then fromt he Debug menu click on Recreate Roster Index. That will merge the two. To completely replace the roster on one machine, also copy the roster.xml file. Probably still have to Recreate Roster Index.
You can also access Export Complete Roster under the Roster menu, but since there is no corresponding Import Complete Roster I'm not sure what the point is. (I have JMRI 3.0, maybe this got finished now).

The Import roster function doesn't work (up to 3.3.2) and is being worked on (or at least is in list of things to do). Copy the roster folder as Randy mentions and move to new computer. Recreate roster index as Randy explains, don't bother moving the roster.xml file as recreating the index makes a new one.

I have Windows 7 on my laptop and am running the latest (2 weeks ago!) version of JMRI DecoderPro. I will try what you guys recommend. The desktop has XP Pro. I eventually want to set up my desktop in the trainroom where I do the programming of the locos and will need to transfer all the data files to it.

Shows how much I actually use JMRI - I have it installed on 3 different computers and I never copied the roster files around. In fact on the laptop, which I set up at club shows, I regularly just operwrite whatever's there, or don;t bother to save after setting up someone's loco. But I will add that for my home stuff, with my era and prototype, there's nothing really set in any loco other than an address and simple lighting, so I never use JMRI to program them. The only locos I have with wierd programming in them are the ones I run at the club, where insteadof the cab number I've had to set them to something else usually 1 higher, to avoid conflicts with others. And since some people can;t avoid the gerfingerpoken, I gave up on trying to consist multiple units so I have a pair set to the same address, and then reset the lights so that only the ones ont he end come on with the set changes direction, no lights in the middle shining at one another. I'd save that, but if I swap them out and run them at home, I'd just reset them to normal like my other locos.
JMRI does come in handy when someone brings over a loco and they have no idea what decoder was put in it, and they want the sounds fixed. I suppose I should start organizing by member name and loco, but I'm not at every show and sometimes people just set their own things up using the DB150 program track which is what everyone did before I started bringing my PR3 and laptop.
In the train room i did use PanelPro to set up my Tam Valley controllers with a panel in addition to the fascia buttons, but now that I won't be doing much with the layout, that's sort of fallen by the wayside too.
Maybe someday I will finish the idea I had of integrating my inventory program with JMRI, importing and exporting individual roster info with the other data on the loco stored in the inventory. And the bit about exporting the rolling stock rsoter to my phone or tablet, so I don't have to carry around a small notebook to train shows to avoid purchasing duplicates.
I found the 'Roster' folder where you said it would be and copied it to a flash drive and then to my desktop. Now I can print out the data if I want to (didn't have a printer to connect to the laptop). I did print out a basic list of the roster and found several duplicates and a couple of old locos I don't have anymore. Very happy now!
