Athearn FP Genesis DC to DCC
Posted by Green on Tuesday, September 25, 2012 5:52 PM

So I want to convert a Genesis F B from DC to DCC. I am aware that I should use a TSU-GN1000 EMD. Anyone have a suggestion for a speaker and enclosure? And /or what diameter I should be looking for?

Lastly. Would it be possible to use a TSU-1000 and just plug it into the existing jumper?

Thanks

So I found the below at tthe SoundTraxx site. EMD FP45 TSU-GN1000 828051 decoder.

810054 speaker

Baffle 810110

The TSU1000  could work depending on the space avaialble.

The F7 does not use a 645 diesel power plant.  Here is the correct information off the Soundtraxx web site:

Model               Decoder Model                  Decoder Part #        Speaker/Baffle Kit #

EMD F7      TSU-GN1000 EMD 567              828050                     810054/810110

Here is the web link to the Soundtraxx Tsunami decoder selector:

http://www.soundtraxx.com/choose/step3.php?t=ho&s=Athearn

The decoder model names for the Tsunami decoders can be sort of confusing with the similar names, but different part #'s.

Does anyone know if I can use the same wire clips from the original light board on the GN1000?

Thanks. The FP and the FB confused me.
