...and a normally closed SPST momentary pushbutton switch?..
The pushbutton has to be normally OPEN, not normally closed.
It could, electrically it's all the same. The way I described it, the center wire from the switch motor goes to one AC terminal, and the center terminal of the SPDT goes to the momentary button which goes to the other side of the AC supply. It would work either way.

Sounds like you are trying to use two mom push buttons.
1. Connect one terminal of power supply to center connection of switch machine
2. Connect together one terminal each of both push buttons - to this connect the second terminal of power supply.
3. the other terminal of pushbutton A goes to one of the side terminals of the switch machine
4. Similarly the other terminal of pushbutton B goes to the other side terminal of switch machine.
Does this help?
Does the momentary pushbutton connect the other AC side of the transformer to the center wire? Just wanted to make sure.
Almost exactly like the stock pushbuttons. One side of the power supply goes to the center wire of the 3 wire cable that goes to the switch machine. The two outer wires hook to the outer terminals of the SPDT. The momentray pushbutton connects between the center terminal of the SPDT and the other side of the power supply. Flip toggle, push button to operate switch machine.
does anyone know how exactly to wire an atlas n scale switch machine with a SPDT switch and a normally closed SPST momentary pushbutton switch? Thanks,Carter
