Atlas Dash 8 speaker install
Posted by NSDash09 on Thursday, July 12, 2012 7:43 AM

I have a silver series Atlas Dash 8 that I am adding sound and DCC to. I have both of the speakers, 1.25" QSI speakers, and when I mount them in the a frame the magnets in the speakers repel each other. I don't want to force them together and destroy the speakers but maybe that is the correct way to house them. In an atlas locomotive with a frame speakers, do both speakers face pointing inward and the contact wires are on the outside of the a frame? Also, the decoder manual i have suggest parallel wiring for the speakers, is that still right in this configuration?

Visit Soundtraxx's website...bottom right corner of the home page...Quick links/manuals/installation guide/pages 23-24.This will answer the connection part of your answer.

The magnets are supposed to be on the outside of the frame and wire them parallel as in instructions say. Jim.
