NYC 6125
Posted by Dannyboy6 on Friday, June 29, 2012 9:15 PM

I've recently purchased an N scale New York Central #6125 and am having some trouble figuring out the manufacturer. The plastic Fuel tank cover says Kato, but the frame says 1992 Atlas.

I found this info about the shel on the Atlas site:

N Kato GP-35 Phase 1A New York Central (Black) decorated body. Shell, cab and sill only. Non dynamic brakes. Road numbers 6125 and 6127.

I'd like to add DCC to it, but don't really know what I've got, or if/how I can add DCC.  ;0) Help!

The various Atlas/Kato locos for the most part take the same decoders. Check the TCS web site, there is probbaly a picture of an install for the same or similar loco. If the frame is stamped Atlas then I suspect it is one of the newer ones that Atlas made themsevles rather than actually made by Kato.
