Hi folks-
This is part one of a series documenting a complete installation of a SoundTraxx Tsunami including frame, shell and speaker modifications. A second 23mm High Bass speaker will be added and stock 1.5v bulbs replaced with smd LEDs.

The series will include mechanical and electrical how to advice. The series will conclude with an in-depth tutorial on programming the Tsunami decoder using a NCE PowerCab system.
You can find other videos of both steam and diesel sound installations I've done here:

I couldn't fix your brakes, so I made your horn louder
Very nice.
I see a fair amount of You Tube videos about decoder installs but hardly ever any You Tube pictures or videos of the actual install. Many uses want the actual install more than seeing and hearing how the loco runs.

If you ever fall over in public, pick yourself up and say “sorry it’s been a while since I inhabited a body.” And just walk away.
Thanks Rich-
I'm trying to provide a venue for people who think they have the skills and time to do an installation properly. DCC sound is not rocket science, but does require patience to learn a new skill. For those who have may not have time, tools, etc. they can hire an experienced installer, myself to allow them to further enjoy this great hobby.

Nice, having done a couple of these myself I am interested to see what your approach is? Also curious to see what impact the loss of weight has on pulling capability?
Just a point on the video, there are a couple of times when the music drowns out what you are saying and becomes a real distraction, I think for future videos of this type you might be better off without it.

I agree,
All that video tells is what he is gonna do kind of a waste of time and boring if you ask me.
Show me how you cut the frame while you are cutting it, that's what I'm talking about.
If only Norm Abrams was a train modler insted of a wood worker, we might get something good to watch.
Truck.
I thought cutting the frame weight was a part I could leave out. Its a simple, straight cut you can perform using either a band saw or hacksaw using a bi-metal blade. When I use the band saw, I don't want to have the camera near because of potential damage.
