FOF+- Function Outputs
Posted by alloboard on Friday, June 1, 2012 2:53 AM

I have a Bachmann F40PH diesel Locomotive. I'm currently wiring LEDs onto this decoder. I've connected the front white LED's (F0F) Next I will connect the rear red LED's (F0R). The pads marked in the picture below are for the forward white (F0F) lights. Does anyone know if this serves as a separate function, or will this connection be turned on simultaneously with the other F0F tab on the front? I will use the function outputs for strobe lights, ditch lights, and the red marker light on the front of the F40PH.

From looking at the manual, I'd assume that these are parallel contact points for the same function.

The pair in the middle is a mirror of the two on the front. The old Atlas/Kato locos witht eh plastic board used to have just one light bulb in the middle, which is why those pads are there.

Don't use those 12V LEDs with this decoder, it already has resistors for LEDs installed, for the F0F and F0R connections.

That's kind of what I thought but wasn't quite sure. Thanks for the answers.
