Do you have the wire positions correct? Atlas turnouts used to always have the common as the center wire - are Bachmann the same way? And have you done any other conifguration? The default for the DS64 is configured for solenoid machines but if output 1 got configured for stall motor and you connect the Bachmann solenoid it might cause a problem that could cause the rest of the DS65 to stop working.

They are the standard 3 wire black roadbed switches that come with expander sets that can be controlled by sliding switch( not DCC ready).  currently i have one atlas switch attached to position #3 and it works fine until i connect one bachmann 3 wire switch in position #1.  when i select position 1 nothing happens and when i select position # 3 the atlas switch no longer works.  when i detach the bachmann switch the atlas works fine.  nothing else attached to the whole system except track.

Which Bachmann switches? Did they previous have 3 wires going to a control box?

And how much stuff do you have on the DS64? Each one cna run 4 turnouts. So if you already have 4 Atls connected, you generally can't add more, although in say a crossover situation you cna connect two to one output so they both throw at the same time.

If you have a second DS64 - did you set the addresses on each one? If you just used them out of the box, they have the same addresses so if you operate swtitch 1 it will operate switch 1 on both DS64's, each output needs a unique address.

Digtrax DS64 and Bachmann switches

First I would like to thank eveyone for their help so far.  This is an invaluable site.

Now, I have tried to hookup 4 of my Bachmann switches to the Digitrax ds64.  None seem to work and when connected to the DS64 the bachmann switches interfer with my atlas switches that had worked previously.

Is there a problem with the Bachmann switches on the DS64?  is there a workaround?
