The required power supply says 12-18V 500ma, per another thread on this same subject. Since the Zephyr (original) is 2.5 amps, there should be no problem here.

What is the current draw for the turntable? Did the Walthers rep say?

You shouldn't need to add a booster just because you add a turntable. How many locomotives are you running? The zephyr has enough current to run quite a few locomotives.

Walthers response to new DCC turntable power supply
Posted by don7 on Monday, May 7, 2012 1:46 PM

I received a response this morning from Walthers rep. Jerry Roy regarding using my Digitrax Zephry with the new DCC turntable.

The Walthers rep suggested that I will probably need to obtain a booster unit for my Zephry should I want to run the turntable DCC.

As for using the turntable on a DC layout, follow the directions as per the diagram and no problems except you of course loose all of the programing of the DCC features.

As per using the Zephry to power the tracks on the bridge, should be no problem. Using a seperate power source for the control box should be ok.
