I converted my Atlas GP-7 to DCC with a Digitrax DH165AO and everything worked fine. I left it programmed at 03 so no CV's were changed. Then I added a Digitrax SFX004 soundbug and now nothing works. When installing the Soundbug I noticed that the decoder was facing down so I turned the board over to finish the install. After going back to the 165 decoder it looked like the board may have been installed upside down but that was the way it worked. I have tried everything and can't get any response out of the engine. I have tried to convert it back to DC but that doesn't work. I contacted Atlas but so far no response that helped.
My question: Has anyone out there made this conversion that could possible help me in determining what my problems are. Pictures of the conversion or details of the wiring would really help.
Thanks,
M.C. Richmond

On the programming track, are you able to read a CV (like the ID No.??) If not there may be short that developed during the installation process, or something got disconnected. I'd try installing the 165 decoder. If it works, set the CVs and perhaps "lock" them. Then try adding the sound decoder.
You may have fried the motor.
