I've operated on a layout with an NCE PowerCab and a reverse loop. Worked fine.
.............
Likewise, I have two reversing loops with PSX-AR.s along with a NCE PowerCab and have never had a moment's trouble.

In fact, as I didn't intend to run the trains continuously through the reverse loop, the turtoise switch is actually changing the polarity of the reversing loop not the polarity of the main as it is usually done. The train enter the reverse loop and must stop. The turnout is set for exiting the loop and reverse the polarity. I put the control on reverse and exit the loco "forward". When out of the loop I put the turnout on its normal position and return the train on the reverse loop which acts as a staging track. The train is now facing in the right direction to come back when needed. The reverse loop has tow tracks so I can use it with one train in the staging.
Well, the contact switchign method will still work, although with DCC it is more common to change the polarity of the loop side rather than the mainline side like you do in DC. This may cause a restart of sounds in some sound locos though. The issue is that the short reaction time of the PowerCab is not adjustable liek it is in some other systems, and tends to detect the short before most auoreversers can react, For things to work prerly, the autoreverser needs to see the short first and flip, before the system senses the short and shuts down.

I have been warned that not all reverse loop solutions work well with the NCE Power Cab. On my actual DC layout I have a reverse loop. The polarity is controlled by a Turtoise switch machine who actuates a Atlas turnout. I will have to deal with this reverse loop in DCC pretty soon.
Any advise on a good working solution for the NCE Power Cab will be appreciated.
