Refer to your other question about LEDs and resistors, you can easily connect more than one LED to a function output and not be overlaoding the decoder. So the front white light plus the rear read light can be hooked to F0F, and the rear white light and front red light connected to F0R. With basic directional lighting you would then have white in the direction of movement and red to the rear.

ALternately, there are 6 total fuctions, so you should have a few extra left over for the red lights, so that when a train is coupled on there is no red light showing (pretty sure they don;t elave the rea red markers lit when pulling a train). You cna map the functions so that FoF controls the headlight, and F3 is the rear red light, F3 only on if F0 on, but also independently controlled so you cna turn it off. To have ALL the lights (they have twin beacons on the roof, don't they?) you'd need an additional function only decoder to get enough total functions for the headlights, red markers, ditch lights,a dn roof beacons. No one decoder has enough outputs for all that stuff.

Wiring Lights On Digitrax DH165A0 On ALP -44

How should I wire the lighting functions of Digitrax DH165A0 on the HO Atlas ALP-44 so that when the locomotive goes foward the white light will be on on the front and the red light on the back. Keep in mind that the ALP-44 locomotive is dual sided with many head light marker lights and number boards. The F0F is for the head light and the F0R is for the tail light. Their is another set of F0Fon the soldering pad. I assume one can use that as the head light on the other end of the ALP-44, if so where is another set of the tail lights (F0R) for the other end of the ALP-44? If there is no other set of tail lights for the ALP-44 then the function outputs can be used for the tail lights which may not result in automatic directional lighting. I want the light of the number boards to be directional but independent of the headlights. How can I fix this Issue?
