I've found that All Electronics has an online inventory that varies from day to day. I found the supply I was looking for and ordered one.
It takes an iron man to play with a toy iron horse.
Both units may be a little different in construction. Just a guess. All Electronics has a 16 volt and 18 volt transformer at a little over 1 amp.
If you know how to parallel transformers, you could use two of the same brand/type. I have done that in the past but you have to phase the transformer secondary windings.
There are some transformers that have dual identical secondary windings the you can put in series or parallel for more voltage or more current but I do not find those transformers much anymore, at least not lately.

I am installing a couple of these on Phase 2 of my layout. I have one in my older Phase 1 tracks, which I operate with a 12 volt, 1 amp wall wart. After reviewing the specs, I'm kind of surprised it works, as the instructions suggest 16 volts, 3 amps as the minimum.
But, I tried wiring up a new unit to the same supply, and I didn't get enough magnetic field to separate the couplers. So, I'm looking for another supply. All Electronics dot Com doesn't show anything in that range.
What are other people using? Would I get enough from a 12 volt, 3 amp supply? Or is there somewhere else that might have a better selection in power supplies? Thanks.
