Hi every body.
I have just accuired a proto 1000 rdc-2 and fitted a tcs T 1 decoder.can i use any of the wires on the decoder to operate a coach interior lighting system,i was thinking of the dcc supplies led strip lights.
regards
PATRICK
The TCS T1 has two function outputs controlled by the white or yellow wires, with blue being common. Generally, they are used to control the front and rear headlights. If you want to control the front & rear headlight indepentently plus interior lighting, you'll have to upgrade to a T4 and use the green and purple wires.

The yellow wire on the TCS T-1 decoder, which is normally used for the backup light, can be made to function as you desire for internal lighting by programming a value of 32 into CV 50.
Read the instructions on page 3 of the T-1 decoder documentation under LIGHTING CONTROL. CV 50 can be programmed to make the yellow wire function for any of the listed purposes by giving it the "both" value.
I used the yellow wire for a mars light in a Proto 2000 E-8 model just today and it is working perfectly. Function 0 turns on both the headlight wired to the white wire and the mars light wired to the yellow wire.
Hi guys.
thanks for the info. can you tell me what thegreen and purple wires do on the decoder.
I can tell you, but the prices I charge for such information are rather high.
The green and purple wires are there because the same wiring harness is provided with every TCS decoder and it uses the standard color code scheme for the JST headers.
On the T-1 decoder they don't do anything because it doesn't have function inputs connected to those two colors. If it were a 4 function decoder they would be used.
Thanks for your support, when you come to Dublin I can get you a nice pint of GUINNESS.
