I just got stumped with my zephyr dsc50. was running 3 trains as always and it just stopped.
I have done all the usual test and even disconnected the DCC and ran a DC cab with success. so it's not the tracks. I have all the right response, EXCEPT no trottles, either on the main unit or jump ports.
What is my next step??
I don't want to have to ship this unit to the US for service, is there someone in Canada that can do the work.
About the us. it's the custom and postage that gets very expensive.

YES, the track has 15.56 volts AC. a DC engine makes the usual noise at 00. just no trottle response.

It's probably not broken per se, but something must have happened. Perhaps a momentary short-circuit caused it to shut down. I would try one engine at a time, first put it on the programming track and verify it's ID number. Then put that number in the Zephyr and see if it finds it and it works OK. I'd check the Zephyr instruction booklet too re troubleshooting. Maybe try clearing out consists and addresses back to square one too.
...and of course, check all the obvious stuff too. I spent 10 minutes last night trying to figure out why my engine was reading normally on the programming track, but wouldn't respond on the mainline. Turns out one wire from the Zephyr to the track had come loose.
Also it can't hurt to look at the backof the manual and follow the procedure to reset the system.

thanks guys for all the help. managed to get it going again. with resetting all from 0. don't know why, but now it works. maybe like you said. one engine is drawing a little too much current. but at least I have one engine running and now will be able to sort all the engine and see which one is "bad"
