Installing LokSound decoder in Spectrum 44 tonner
Posted by trnj on Monday, October 13, 2008 8:21 PM

I am attempting to install a LokSound Micro decoder in a Spectrum 44 Tonner.  My question is this.  Would it be better to scrap the existing "board" and "hard wire" the decoder?  If I did that, it would provide more space for the speaker (in the cab).  Are there any pitfalls I should be aware of?  Thanks for any help anyone can give me.

 TRNJ

P.S.  The decoder is programmed for twin Caterpillar engines!

I have not installed a decoder in my 44 ton yet. If you stay with the board, cut the capacitors off the PC board. All depends on the available space.

The below link has a little info about the 44 ton.

If you ever fall over in public, pick yourself up and say “sorry it’s been a while since I inhabited a body.” And just walk away.
