Matt,
Along with Stix's excellent link from Tony's, here's another good reference for you:
DCC Made Easy by Lionel Strang (Kalmbach Publishing) - Lionel has a real knack for explaining complicated things into every day english.
Also, this month's (November) Model Railroader has an article entitled "A buyer's guide to DCC systems" by Mike Polsgrove & Dana Kawala (pg. 50-55) that may come in handy for you.
Hope that helps...
Tom

Time...It marches on...without ever turning around to see if anyone is even keeping in step.
Well you'll need to get a DCC power/control unit from NCE, Digitrax, MRC etc. You'll also need to add decoders to the two engines. If they're new they're probably set up for "plug and play" where you just remove a dummy plug from the engine and plug in a decoder.
Here's a good place to start:TONY'S TRAINS - DCC FOR BEGINNERS
