I converted one recently with the same board fitted with sound and found the same problem, to solve it got a curved needle file and worked away at the exhauast retaining pins on the inside of the body, if you do it enough the exhaust will fall out (it did on me) and so i used the tiniest drop of CA to hold it in place.
