Take a photo of the PC board and post it using Photo Bucket. A picture is worth a thousand words. I have done that before.
Here is an example of a PC board from a Spectrum 4-4-0. The decoder plugs into the 8 pin NMRA connector I have removed. Sometimes you will see L! & L2 on Bachmann PC boards. Those are inductors. You can see the component labels and PC board connection labels.

If you ever fall over in public, pick yourself up and say “sorry it’s been a while since I inhabited a body.” And just walk away.
You didn't find functions, you just found the labels for all the parts on the board! A few might be output pads for functions.
The best way to find out what functions are available on a particular board would be to, dare I say it, read the manual! If you don't have it, it is most likely online at the manufacturers website.
Jeff But it's a dry heat!
This is a list of the following functions found on some DCV circuit boards with DCC socket. What are the following functions used for?
Electronic components in the electronics industry are called out like that.
Anything preceeded by a C is a capacitor, a R, resistor, D a diode/rectifier, Q transistor, LED 4/5 +- usually around 12 volts DC. It seems pin 4 is + and pin 5 is-, a WAG on this one.
I have not seen the LED call out like that on my decoders. Others may comment. You might get some ??. Some people have not ever looked at electronic circuit boards.
