I've never bought an Athearn with the MRC sound decoder, and if this is typical of what they are like, I never will.

the ditch lights were not on because the operator did not turn them on (F3), making the ditchlights constant on when in foreward direction of travel, except during horn flash cycle.

I'm gung-ho about the new QSI decoders and am hoping that modelers that get them will post them on YouTube.

Hopefully I'll have at least one by September for my Genesis FP45

You can type in keywords like "tsunami" or "MRC sound" and get specific mfg. video clips too.
It's a real handy tool for deciding which one your gonna blow $100 on!Thumbs Up [tup]
Jon Grant (from these forums) has videos comparing different speakers with Tsunami decoders.
The high bass speakers sound great!

Thanks for posting those links.

I suspect that the Genesis F unit was equipped with an MRC sound system that, imho, Sounded awful! Grumpy [|(]

The steamer, however, more than made up for it.  That, indeed, was music.  Headphones [{(-_-)}]

If you ever fall over in public, pick yourself up and say “sorry it’s been a while since I inhabited a body.” And just walk away.
