Thanks for sharing your experience, Rrebell. This is good to know.

Digitrax dose not recognise some numbers, had that happen to me.

The exact numbers are in your Digitrax manual, I beleive the max number is 9983, went to an old thread from two years ago of mine, guess I have made more progress than I thought in 1 1/2 years.

I also think it was intially on. But the "on" was not shown in my throttle (UT6). Also, I re-set the loco several times and set the address to other numbers. In those cases, I am not sure if F15 was on. It seemed that F15 was only on when I set the address to 2670. That is the part I don't quite understand...

My guess would be your DCC system had F15 as 'on' for ID 2670. Perhaps you inadvertenly hit F15 when you first started, maybe you meant to activate another function (like F5, but accidently hit the 'shift' button so F5 was actually F15). Each time you re-set the engine to another number, it worked fine because F15 wasn't 'on' for those IDs. Once you set it back to 2670, F15 was still 'on' according to your DCC system. Eventually you apparently set the decoder to ID 2670 and pressed F15 to turn it 'off', and the engine worked fine.

Important to understand that it's not the decoder that has the setting for F15, it's your DCC system. If you had re-set your DCC system to clear it of all previously entered IDs and consists etc., it probably would have worked fine then, as I assume the default for F15 is 'off'.

I see.... This is interesting and makes lots of sense. Also following the posts from CSX Robert and rrebell, the command station may not send well the function signals if the number above 13. So my loco was actually set to F15 on but I just simply didn't know as it was "hidden"... Make sense... I also learned a lot. Many thanks, wjstix!
