First Generation Genesis F7 MRC decoder
Posted by Ringo58 on Thursday, January 21, 2021 11:20 AM

I purchased a used F7 on facebook. Got home and was bummed it did not make sound. Opened it up and saw the speaker had been removed. I contacted the guy and he mailed me the speaker for it.

Now how does it wire up? He sent a picture with C8 and C18 on the board saying thats where the wires went.

Does it matter what wire goes were? Red to C8, Black to C18 or other way around?

Also, what is the cut red wire for? (bottom left of decoder, looks glued in?)

Thanks for any help!

Ringo,

It shouldn't matter which wire is soldered to which of the two pads.  Either way is fine.

The red wire is the antenna, it’s a MRC Freedom One wireless decoder.
