'CUSTOMER SERVICE ISSUE"
Posted by TrainsRMe1 on Sunday, September 27, 2020 11:19 PM

Hey Guys,                                                                                                              I have a question about 2 signal companies, Has anybody been able to contact anybody at NJ International, I have been tyring to call customer service for the longest time, with no sucess, the same with Layout Dynamics, I've left E-mails and phone calls with no avail,  I guess I'm just a little fraustrated, thanks for the lending of a ear,                                                                                                    Take Care All, Happy Modelrailroading,!!

I’ve found NJI always a bit sluggish on email reply but don’t remember a guy not answering the phone.  They are in Tampa Florida, maybe Kevin knows.

Hi Mel,

Thanks for the info, it's just fraustrating when you see a type of signal you like that a company makes,, but they are slow in contacting you, I know that these places are run by a small number of people or by one person, now I work in Nscale and there seem to be fewer options to go for, for instance, Atlas has taken over BMLA signals but they DONT have the signals that I want, which is the modern hooded signals, in Nscale, oh well, on my layout, I'm going to have a mixure of hooded, SP targets, and G types anyway, so I'm not to worried!!

Several years ago when I was making new signals for my HO layout I really wanted to go with the NJI signal heads but they couldn’t deliver.  I had 20 SP heads on backorder for almost a year and wanted another 20 when I finally gave up on NJI.

At first I ended up making my own heads, a close copy of the NJI heads.  I used a NJI head as a go-by.

I bought the punch from Harbor Freight and made my own pack plates.

Later on I found out that a #6S brass washer was the correct size and it was much easier to buy a bag of 12 at Home Depot for a couple of bucks than punch them.

I ended up making 35 heads to completely rebuild my signal system.

The signal bridge is a Traincat Kit.

Sometimes you just have to make do when you can’t find something.

Did you try this email address? info@njisignals.com

This is how I reach them. Yes they are slow. FYI, they're in Clearwater, FL

PO Box 15341 Clearwater, FL 33766

Here's a phone # as well (727) 281-8268

They're alive and well and I speak to the owner on a regular basis as I go back with them more than 45 years...

That’s good info Neal, thanks!  Their site info hasn’t been updated, their main website doesn’t have the updated address or correct phone number. I found the correct info under Order Info.
