mrc prodigy express no responce but power to track and throttle
Posted by pghwrench on Saturday, January 18, 2020 7:17 PM

Hi new to the forum. I'm getting no responce from my throttle. The track has power (sounds on Bachmann locos starts right up). The throttle is lit and I can throttle up change locos etc. But I get no movement from any loco on any address. cannot control turnouts, nothing. There is a led link light that doesn't do any thing when buttons are pressed.  I've tried three different throttles. (express, elite, and wifi module. that has a flashing red light.butcan pull up locos. Four different wires on the handhelds still no responce. In the past every command would light the link led but no more????

Is this a new installation or was it working a few day ago and now it's not?  What did you do in the meantime?  Electrical storm?  Power outage?

I have a Lenz system, so I can't make even a guess as to what might be wrong with MRC, but those are kind of generic questions that others might recognize as problems.

Clear out all of the stored locomotive numbers then unplug the hand held until the screen goes blank.  Then plug it back in and turn the controller power pack off for about 30 seconds turn the power pack back on and you will have reset the system.

Nothing to add, but Welcome to the forum.  Let us know if Mel's suggestion works, or it doesn't.   Posts will be delayed while you are in moderation.

Remember, it's a little computer in there. When in doubt, reset and reboot!
