I hope someone can help me with this problem. I have put a Lopilot 21 pin mobile decoder into a Genesis GP9 with the nine pin plug and while it will let me change CV5 and CV6 with my Powercab in program mode. The changes have no effect on the speed of the loco. My Digitrax DT402 also changes the CV's in ops mode but still no effect on the speed of the loco. Am I missing something here. Does another CV need to be changed to make them effective on the speed of the loco?

Sorry, never mind, please ignore. I thought this was about another brand decoder.(Soundtraxx). I had inserted comments on that angle.
Suggest check (read) CV29. It looks like default (sum of several bits) is a value of 12. That ensures that bit 4 is 0 (not 16) so that CV2, 5 & 6 can define the dual slope simple speed curve.
Also suggest do a reset (CV8 = 8, then interrupt power). Then try again.

Well I feel old now. It seems the Lokpilot uses much lower settings than anyone else for CV5 and CV6. It runs from 0-64. That would explain why a setting of 150 was not doing anything. It does help to check the instructions from time to time. All is well now.
Yes, I see that the range for CVs 5 & 6 is up to 64, with default values of 64 & 22, respectively. No idea why.

I've seen decoders that use 64, 128 and 256. I believe MRC decoders also use 64 as the max.
