Has anybody ued this type of connector on an HO scale steam engine?
From what I have read, it is fairly easy to install and has a quick disconnect harness assembly for separating the loco from tender.
I am thinking of using it on a Bachmann Spectrum 2-8-0 loco, which from yesterday's post, I accidently seperated 1 wire from the 4 pin conncetor.
Luckily, one of the local hobby shops near where I live, has it in stock.
It beats ordering a replacement part from Bachmann and from my understanding it is a better connector.
Any thoughts?
Don't see why it wouldn't work. Looks like the same sort of JST plug used on most other factory sound steam locos - which means it will be a bit finicky, you can't just yank on the wires and when plugging it in, you have to make sure the connector seats all the way. This often means using tweezers to push on the CONNECTOR part bit by bit to make sure it is fully plugged in. Common cause for issues with soe of these locos is that the connector wasn't fully in place.
