I have an electric locomotive New Jersey Transit ALP-46 and the sound files for that locomotive is on ESU Loksounds with the extensions (*.esux, *.lls, *.esu). I know that digitrax sound end with *.spj. I there a way to export ESU Loksound file to Digitrax?
I do know that the individual sound files for Digitrax are .wav files; I have altered a few Digitrax sound projects by substituting one .wav file for another. So you may not be able to do an entire project all at once, but there might be a way to download the ESU project and then pull out the individual sounds and convert them to .wav files?
In the Loksound Yahoo Group, in the files section, there is
LokSoundsExtractor.exe Extractor program for Loksound projects, to get to the seperate WAV files that are in them.
JMRI I think has a tool to work with wav and digitax. I cannot offer any real advice on how to do either.

That Extractor Tool only worked on the very early ESU files. It won't work on any file that is currently available today.
Sound companies put a lot of time and effort creating their files - they aren't going to let you easily "steal" them for your own personal use.

Put a Loksound in the loco and use the file. You'll be happier in the long run. Both the sound quality and motor drive are better with Loksound. And I say that as a user of a Digitrax system, which I love. Their decoders, not so much.
