Bachmann Dynamis DCC
Posted by Iceman GD6 on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 6:20 PM

I received a Bachmann Dynamis DCC for Christmas and have got it installed but every time the loco goes over a turnout the engine stops and controller shows short. Sometimes I can reboot controller and it restarts.  Other times not so much.   Any help would be appreciated

Hello all,

There is a Bachmann forum. I suggest posting your question there.

Check out https://www.bachmanntrains.com/home-usa/board/index.php/board,2.0.html

Hope this helps.

Not a DCC problem, a track and/or wheel gauge problem.

WHat kind of turnouts? I'm guessing Peco Insulfrog, most likely type to have this problem. The wheels are bridging the two metal rails where they come together with that tiny slip of plastic insulating them at the point of the frog. The most common solution is a little nail polish or enamel paint to make the insualted area slightly longer - just a little bit more. Clear nail polish works good, clean the track in the area well before applying. It will have to be renewed periosidcally depending on how often you run trains, it will evenetually wear away, but should last a fairly long time.

If not a Peco Insulfrog - let us know what kind. The solution may be different.
