So how are the Bachmann self-contained FRED trucks working out?

Out for over a year, and reviewed in the April 2018 MR, but I don't recall reading any discussion about it on these MR forums (Honest, I searched both using the Community search bar as well as Google).
Reminded about it due to a sale listing in the current Walthers flyer, this does seem to be a somewhat cool idea, and while not exactly plug and play, switching out a truck seems rather easier than drilling holes and mounting batteries in the freight car in question (particularly hoppers, flats, etc.)
People of MR who use this unit, how do you like it, does it looks pretty cool, is it wonky, and so on. Prices seem to be around 17.00-18.00 or so apiece -worth it?

It doesn't look bad for the price.  I have a few of the Ring Eng. EOT's, they seem a little bit more detailed.

It says on their website it's compatable with certain Bachmann freight cars.  Not all freight cars?  I don't get that.  I didn't see anything about wheel size.

I don't have one, but.......

I missed the review, so I didn't know they were around.

I did read in the Bachmann forums one or two had them. They are happy with it.

I have one from Ring.

If you ever fall over in public, pick yourself up and say “sorry it’s been a while since I inhabited a body.” And just walk away.
