Auto Reverse Unit
Posted by Billwiz on Saturday, November 10, 2018 4:17 PM

Years ago I purchased a Pocono Mountain Line Auto Reverse Unit ARU5.  I want to use this for a trolley line for a Christmas layout and lost the wiring diagram.  The company closed in 2002.  Does anyone have one and would you guide me with the wiring?

Thanks

Billwiz, google your subject and you will come up with something. We are not supposed to link anything going to another forum here, maybe check your ''messages''. I left the link there, I sent a message/conversation to you to a site with infomation.

Thanks - I did google this and found the site you pm'd me.  Not the same model and not quite the same wiring.  I'll keep looking.

You can see snipits of the instructions on sites where the unit has been sold.  The pair of connectors are the power input.  There is mention of diodes across a gap in the reversing section in one of the other forums.  No idea what size diodes or why there are 4 outputs.

Maybe you can catch one for sale on ebay and see if the seller will copy the instructions.

This guy asked the same question, but got no answers.  He hasn't posted in 7 years, but he has a personal website link in his signature line.  He may be able to help

He also posted to his youtube channel 3 months ago, so he is still in the hobby.

I got it figured out.  Thanks everyone.  Now I can install it on our church's Christmas train layout.

Absolutely!  There are six terminals (one group of two, one group of four) On the underside they are numbered 1-2  4-5-6-7

Terminals 1 & 2 connect to the accessory on the powerpack

Terminals 4 & 7 connect to the track

Terminals 5 & 6 connect to variable dc on the powerpack

I still need to play around with adjusting once I get it on the layout, but it works.
