Proto 2000 FA1 shorting out

Anyone else ever have this problem?  After replacing the gearaxles and mounting the shell, the motor ran with a 9 volt battery against the wheels.  Put it to the track and it trips the powerpack's breaker.  B unit runs fine on same track.  Thanks all, Rob.

The time I had that happen to me, I'd pressed the wheel/axle halves too far into the gear, and the axle ends were just barely touching each other and shorting. Needless to say, they were also out of gauge, on the narrow side.

thank you Fritz, that was the cause. One axle was a full 1/16" out of gauge inwardly. Reminder to all, gauge all wheelsets you replace!
