AFTER FOUR YEARS My trains have been in the closet. I set up the old track for new layout. I only have power on one section of the track. I checked the track and replace the track where the power stopped. I also clean the track. I'm using real track by MTH. I moved the power hook up to a different location which seem to give me about 3 feet more of track that worked. I can understand why I have no power in the majority of the track. Need help
Are you shure that all the rail joiners are connected?

So, this is "O" scale RealTrax ? Maybe you didn't snap it together right. They have a video on their web site, if you want to check it. The connection on these is pretty much bullet proof.
If your using HO scale, it looks like their track needs track joiners, like every other HO track needs, except maybe Bachmann EZtrack, or Kato.
MTH HO track that has the road bed included, does have the rail joiners. If this is what your using, make sure the track joiners are tight.

As a kind of alternative approach, you can make up the equivalent of a feeder system with lengths of reasonable-gauge wire, either with inline connectors or jumpers to the spade power connectors on each piece of track. This forever removes any issue with power having to connect through the joints. You can file a small notch in the bottom ends of the segments to clear the wire if you're putting the track on a hard-surface floor or trying to install it permanently on flat benchwork.

OK, the same thing I set up for my grandson. His is a 4'x8' oval, and I used ywo of their Lockon connectors for power, one on each end. It runs fine. What I did do is eliminate the infared controler, and bought an MTH Z750 power pack. Much better performance.
If you are snapping these together right, the connection between the tracks is pretty much bullet proof, as far as current flow. Make sure the brass loops, on each end, are shiny clean, and snap them togther right, meaning one track is held up at an angle at the start of the connection, and as you push them together, flatten them out. They will lock into place. Put a couple together while looking at the bottom, and you'll see how they lock together.
Make sure the track is clean, especially the third rail. Check each piece to make sure the brass loop is on each end of the piece of track. Maybe when you took them apart, some got bent out of position.
I don't what else I can tell you, not much to it.
