Hello.First of all - Happy New Year
Second... I have a question about Prodigy WiFi #1530 module. My friend and me have been using Prodigy DCC systems for last 10 years. We have 3 Prodigy Advance 2 handhelds. Surprisingly, all three handhelds have a broken LCD digital display. These displays just stopped working at some moments in the past. Definitely, there is something wrong with this part. Handhelds are still operatable and we use them for running trains. However, it became quite difficult to use them for programming. You can easily make a mess when you don't see what you programme.
I found that MRC released WiFi module. My idea is to buy this module and use smartphone or tablet instead of buying a new handheld. I see that recommended apps are WiFi Throttle and Engine Driver. I saw on Youtube movies how it works. There is only one problem - all movies show how to run trains. There is no single word about programming decoders.
So the question is.Is it possible to programme decoders (on main or programming track) using these apps and Prodigy WiFi module?
PSMaybe someone can recommend a replacement part of an LCD display? Part number and producer name would be helpful.
I do not think this allows for programming - WiThrottle and Engien Driver allow control of locos and accessory decoders, but not programming.

As others have noted, ED and/or WiThrottle basically allow controlling mobile and stationary decoders.
The better solution would be to get the appropriate MRC to computer interface device (MRC 1516) and use JMRI for your programming needs. Easy point-and-click programming, AND you'd be able to use all the other JMRI apps.
Thank you very much for all answers. I wrote to MRC with a question about LCD display availability.I will check the option with USB adapter and JMRI.
