Sprog 3 driver download issues on Windows 10
Posted by KEN MASON on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 8:47 AM

I'm trying to connect a Sprog 3 device to my laptop that is running Windows 10 and I cannot get the drivers to load. I have done the disable driver signature enforcement, but when I open up device manager the "other devices" tab does not show up in the window. I'm stuck and need help please. I do have the thumb drive that came with the Sprog 3. I suppose I should mentiuon that this Sprog 3 belongs to a friend and it works fine on his computer. Any advice would be appreciated to help get this working.

Thanks,

Ken

Are you using the same USB cable that works on your friend's computer? When you plug the SPROG in, you should get the bing sound and it should show up in Device Manager. If it's not even getting that far, the USB port is not seeing the device connect. Try another USB cable, and/or another USB port on your computer.

When I added a hard drive to my Windows 10 computer I had to enable it in the BIOS. I am not a SPROG expert so it may not be helpful.

If it's not asking for a driver, or saying unable to install the device, then you have a driver already which is picking it up. Open up the com ports section of Device manager and see if one appears when plugging in the SPROG. ANd/or try a different USB port.

You can also have it look for new hardware from the control panel.
