Has anyone done an installation of one of these before? If so how difficult is it? I just bought five lighting kits and after opening the first I had to chuckle at all the little parts. Hope I am not in over my head with this idea.
I don't have first-hand knowledge of the Superliner lighting kits but I have installed over a dozen in the bi-level C&NW coaches and a couple of the HO business cars.
You are refering to the 7-504 HO version?
Everything went according to plan. Follow the instructions carefully and you can't go wrong. Recently I installed a Soundtraxx Soundcar in my cab-control car so I have a horn and bell plus strobe, marker and head light control
Every Kato product I've dealt with has been a marvel of engineering and everything fits perfectly. You may have to study the parts to figure out the orientation but once you do it will work very well.
There are two metal clips that bring power up from the floor-mounted contact strips. The lamp assembly clips into these and you have the option of using the amber "filter" if you want to reduce the blue/white color of the LED. Then the lucite light bars clip into small recesses and the foil reflector sticks to the car roof to help spread the light toward the seats.
Good Luck, Ed
