Hello all! I have been trying to use a Walthers motorizing kit motor to animate the walthers HO scale oil pump. To test the motor, I wired it to the DC outputs on my MRC Railpower 1370 DC power pack and turned the dial up to 12v as the instructions specified. The motor didn't move at all every time I tested it. Does anyone have any ideas on what the problem might be?
Are you sure the power pack is working, and putting out 12 volts when you turn it up?
You can always check the motor with a 9V battery, just touch one wire to each terminal of the battery
I doubt they have any sort of additional circuitry in those motors, I think it's just a simple motor and a bunch of reduction gears, but just in case - did you try flipping the direction switch the opposite way?

Thank you Randy, I tested the motor with a 9V Battery and it worked perfectly!
Those Walthers motors are DC....they are designed to be able to go in forward/reverse by a reversing switch. My double track swing bridge has one installed in it. I run it at 6volts DC for about the correct motor speed for the rotation of the bridge, opening/closing. At 320 to 1 gear ratio, it will just about move anything.
Take Care!
