The PSX-AR from DCC Specialties will do this. I don't have one, so I can't comment on its performance. I've had very good results with other DCC Specialties products.
They make one model for stall-motor turnout machines (Tortoise) and another for twin-coils (Atlas or Peco.)

I use an MRC AD520 Auto Reverse Module.
Don't let the M.S.R.P. scare you. I found them at Model Train Stuff at a much cheaper price.
Works well for me.

A couple of things I've learned from reading about these:
Most modelers make their reverse loops as long as possible to allow for longer trains, both physically and electrically. If you put the gaps right at the ends of the turnout, the returning train may not have enough time for a Tortoise to throw the points, so back those gaps off a foot or so if you can.
When turning off the layout, the points will move to a pre-set position when it's powered back on. There are probably ways around this, but if you happen to leave a train over the points, the new position might not be the one you want.

That unit doesn't automatically throw the switch points -- which is what the Original Poster wishes to do. It only changes polarity.

If it is a multi-track loop with turnouts on each end of the loop there is a very simple solution. As long as trains will always go through the loop in the same direction, there is no need to even have a switch machine on the exit side. The train will align the points as it is leaving the loop. This works if it is a double track mainline going into the loop. If it is a single track main and the train will pass though the same turnout entering and exiting the loop, then of course it will need to be thrown while the train is in the loop.

What switch motor, in your opinion, is the best to work with the PSX-AR? Finally, what is a ballpark price for what I need to do the job?
