So I have two pairs of locos I'd like to consist in forward/reverse positions. I'm using JMRI with a SPROG 3 command station. One pair is a Bachmann Sound Value DDA40X MU'd to an Athearn SD40-2H with an Econami 100 decoder. The other pair is two Walthers GP30s with Tsunami DCC/Sound.
What do I need to do when using advanced consisting to make JMRI allow swapping between the forward/reverse locomotives? My layout is too small to allow for a turntable or wye, so this seems like a natural answer.
The MRVP videos are pretty detailed, but don't cover this use of consisting.
Any help is as always appreciated :)

Don;t use JMRI, but it's all the same - just drive in reverse. If you are concerned about horn and bell, you need to alter CV21 and CV22 to make the functions active on the new 'lead' loco. Those CVs control what functions are active on a given loco when in a CV19 advanced consist. If you want the return trip to be 'forward' then you also have to change CV19. 1-127 is the consist address for forward, 128-255 is the same consist in the opposite direction. For a pair of A units back to back, one would be say 20 and the other would be 147. To reverse the direction of travel, swap the CV19 values between the two units, now 'forward' will mean the way the former trailing unit is facing.
