Atlas c430 QSI
Posted by WardR on Monday, February 20, 2017 8:34 AM

Hello All,

I have a Atlas gold c420 , one of the newer ones with QSI sound. I went through the manual and it says to change the horn type to set 49 to 1 than 50 to 1 (main horn) than 55 to the horn u want. but that does not seem to do anything. it says there are over a hundred horns. when i do thing s that way described above it says 5.3.1 which is not 5.1.1 so I’m wondering if I’m setting all these 3 Cvs up wrong. I have MRC Elite, does anyone know how to change the horns on this? Appreciate any help. thank you all!!

When you set each CV, beginning with CV 49, do you get a male voice telling you what change is being made to that CV?  If not, you are doing something wrong....or...it isn't a QSI decoder after all.

I do get that voice but according to the manual it should be 5.1.1  and it says 5.3.1 and tells me what it was changed to, it appears even after i change 49,50 and 55. it does not say 5.1.1 its like its not programming the correct cv

There are not over 100 horns in that decoder. The C420 has a Quantum V7 decoder. It's the newer v9 and Titans that have over 100 horns in them.

Also 5.1.1 does not make sense. In terms of QSI undexed CVs, maybe 55.1.1 - which means set CV40 to 1, CV50 to 1, and then set CV55 to the value you want. However, on the QSI v& decoder there is no 55.1.1. There IS a 55.3.1, which is the BELL select.

From the QSI full manual: CV55.1.1 is currently supported only by version 9 Diesel firmware.

Thanks Randy!!  your absolutely correct it was cv 55.3.1 that is was saying. but I did go through that process of cv49=1 cv50=1 and then i tried 1 through 4 and it said 55.3.1 was changed. this is not the original c420 these were the ones that came out about 2 years ago item 10 001 139  the box says qsi titan sound  2nd gen. i would assume it would have more than 2 horns? and as you mentioned 55.3.1 is the bell what’s the horn? i put in 49=1 50=1 and 55= 1 through 4
