I was looking at track cleaning videos and some gent (Laurie McLean MMR) had a video using CRC electrical contact cleaner. What got my attention is he had two locomotives with moving figures! The engineer turned his head out the window looking front and back and the brakeman? standing behind him with a shovel turns towar the firebox which lights up and when he turns to get more coal the light goes off. Fantastic. Anyone know how to do this?

He has other videos showing the construction. Small motors and servos move the figures. All triggered by decoder functions.

YES I found them. Amazing. Don't think I'll ever be able to do it myself. Does he or anyone else sell any?

You wouldn't be risking much if you were to give it a try, the parts are not expensive. If you can do it you will be pretty proud of yourself (and rightfully so). Don't expect to get it right the first time though.

I'm just a dude with a bad back having a lot of fun with model trains, and finally building a layout!
WTH I'll add it to the project list...
