I had to take the decoder board of my BLI F7a so I could lub the engine. Took photos of the board and plugs first. What I failed to do was untangle the rat nest of wires, cannot tell which plug was witch. My can't they spend a extra $1.00 for driffrent plug colors?
I tested the engine on my Decoder Pro test track so a small amount of power was used. Made some god awful sounds.
1 Will using the Decoder Pro test track for testing hurt the decoder if wired wrong? If not, can I just switch plugs till there is no racket from the speaker and be safe?
2 Anyone have a or can make a digram for me of which plug goes where?
3 Is the wiring on the B Unit (Yes I know which plug is for the lights) the same? Reason I ask is the B unit has two speakers where the A only has one speaker.
Thanks for the coming answers, Ken

Hey, Ken! Guess Who?
Well, IF our boards look the same, this is what you should find. This is from an A-B set that was new in the box so hasn't been molested.
A- unit. Does your board have the screen printing that ID's the plugs?
If not, follow these photos:
Mine are marked SP and MOT and TRACK.
Here is the B unit. The speakers are wired in series so there will only be one plug.
I hope that gets you going again.
Umm, I just lubed the motor bearings on both these locos using the needle point applicator. The front one was tight but by probing with the point of the needle you can feel the shaft and just give the bottle a quick squeeze. The A unit was open but the B unit had black vinyl tape that I peeled back.

well if he has the earlyer BLI then is would match your board..you have the QSI..The Paragon 2 if a different setup..with no removeable sound chip..
