Copy CV's with JMRI Decoder Pro?
Posted by Arto on Saturday, March 12, 2016 4:54 PM

Is there a way to copy the CV's from one loco to another with Decoder Pro?

I have an Athearn Genesis F45 with factory Tsunami that I would like to copy the CV's to one of the same that I installed the deoder and sound. It's kind of a pain to go through all the CV's, write them down, and compare which ones need to be changed to get the same sound/lighting effects.

Do you have the loco's in a roster in JMRI? If not create a roster entry for each one. Click on the loco you want to copy from. On the top menu bar click cv and read all sheets. Click on the file button in upper left. Click save. Put the loco you want to copy to on the program track. Click write all sheets. You will need to redo the address and cv29 if the direction of travel is reversed. When done, click cv, read all sheets and save file. Reading all sheets will take some time.   Joe
