NCE Cab06r Setup
Posted by mcleveland on Sunday, February 21, 2016 4:58 PM

I purchased a NCE Cab06r throttle to use with PH Pro 5amp system and two Pro Cabs.

Pro Cabs are addressed as 02 and 04.  Version of firmware in the booster is March2007C which seems to be compliant with Cab06r instructions.

Cab06r is still on default address of 03.

When attempting to get into setup using the tethered cable from the booster to the Cab06r I am not able to get into program set up.  Following the instructions and using either the escape or enter key upon plugging tethered cable will not take the throttle into set up.

I have been able to use the throttle to successful select a loco and run that loco.

Is there something I'm failing to do.

Thanks

Failing to read the instructions?  Looking at the manual I believe that you are supposed to hold down the select key when plugging in.

I have followed that direction, however, the cab still does not go into set up mode.

Mike,

Do you have a NCE USB Adapter for JMRI?  The default address for it is 03....

Not sure what JMRI has to do with this.

To the OP...what exactly do you mean by program setup?  Are you trying to change the cab address, or do something else?

Maxman,
The default address for the USB adapter is 3, same as the address he is trying to use for the new throttle on the cab bus.

Oh.  So what you're really asking is if he has one of these connected somewhere?

Sent the throttle to NCE.  Returned the unit after repairing a bad solder joint on the RJ45 jack.

Thanks for all the input
