Tsunami decoder issues
Posted by EMD645 on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 10:44 AM

Not long ago I installed a tsu 1000 in an Athearn RTR only after repairing all the pick up problems that it had out of the box. After the install it seemed to work well, I programed it with jmri to get it running and sounding good. I moved on to lighting and set that up to work as I wanted gyra light in nose standard light on cab. All works great until you run the locomotive with the lights on, it starts and stops continuously. It never comes to a complete stop but rather slows and speeds back up. If I shut the lights off it runs just fine. Any ideas?

What kind of light are you using. Some RTR units have 12 volt bulbs.

Make sure you don't have a short from the rail pick up to the comman of the lights.

Yep, a wiring issue with the lighting in some form or fashion.
