My original BLI T1 Duplex Died after a few days on the layout.
I loved it so much that I could not wait for it to be repaired - 10 weeks was the average.
So I bought a new T1 - "as delivered" . This may be normal for you folks who are deep into MR but for me not so much. However, for this loco - I could not resist.
Is this normal - or - do I have no patience whatsoever.
The PRR T1 4-4-4-4 duplex with paragon2 sound is one of the best I ever owned.

As far as your 'impatience' goes, a man has to have what a man has to have! I'm a little disappointed to hear that the first loco quit so soon (they should never quit at all with proper maintenance IMHO). Hopefully the second will prove itself to be more worthy of your admiration.
Look at the bright side. When the first loco gets back from repair you will have the beginnings of a fleet!

As Dave said, it's a great way to start a fleet. I have several copies of some of my favorite engines... who's to say what's "normal"?

Thanks for the response guys - I dont think I need to move this post. I think I got the feedback I needed. Even though I know this was probably the wrong place to post it. I just got used to posting my DCC questions here. I got a lot of great advice from the people who watch this forum.
To Dave - The beginning of a fleet or even an empire :-) I just love PRR - don't know why but just do.
To Ed - The missus get whatever she wants - I have no say in that. Just wait till she gets my credit card bills :-) If I had the courage to buy her a sewing machine - she would proably hit me over the head with it. She likes football related stuff - like Green Bay, Aurburn, Alabama - now thats a better alternative.
I am hoping to get good results with this new BLI T1 and that can keep me going until the old T1 (without the portholes) get repaired (maybe 2-3 months - yikes).
As some of you followed my PRR Spectrum Coach thread - those cars are a bit weird (read dreadful) - just like some of you mentioned. However, for a cheap deal on ebay I learned a good lesson.
P.S. Don't want to bring this up on the ATF thread in case we get another flood of differing opinions - but my trains run so good on an ATF smeared track.
You're excited about something new & anticipated in your life. Are kids "normal" on Christmas morning? Nothing for you to apologize for. By the way, that new sewing machine might mean work for your wife. Bejewelled bracelets, necklaces, and earrings, on the other hand...........
Be prepared for sticker shock. Paybacks are heck (or something like that).

You hit the nail right on the head - But I don't want to make it Chrismas for me too often :-)
I think my wife has enough jewelery - but women dont equate those things to "kids toys" like train sets. :-)
Now I will shut up - in case I get the silent treatment again.
