I'm hoping one of you electronic wizards can help me. I just put a Soundtraxx TSU- BW1000 in my Proto 2000 GN E7A. The sound is fantastic. No lights. I understand the blue wires are common, all have dropping resisistors. I connected the blue wires to positive and white to negative as both the Tsunami instruction sheet and DCC projects and applications said to do. No lights. Can someone tell me what I did wrong or tell me what they did to make their lights work. Thank you
By your description, I'm assuming (I know, should never do that !) you are using LEDs. (?) The TSU-BW1000 is a replacement board for factory Bowser engines. The board has onboard resistance for the direct installation of LEDs. It's possible with the additional resistor you added, the resistance is too high for the LED to light.
If my assumption is incorrect, and you are using the old factory bulbs, they are rated at around 12 volts and will not light using the BW board unless you somehow by-pass the onboard resistors.
Mark.
