Walthers Metroliner Modification
Posted by alloboard on Friday, February 6, 2015 4:55 PM

I have the PRR Deluxe limited edition. I installed a Train Control System's Kat24 Decoder's left and right rail pickup in series with the pre installed TSU Soundtraxx interior lightboard and decoder. I did that by cutting the factory installed Soundtraxx wires and removing the Soundtraxx wires to the motor and replacing the motor wires to the TCS  KAT26 decoder. I then merged the left and right power pickups of the factory installed Soundtraxx with the left and right power pickups of the TCS KAT 26 decoder. Then I installed the TCS KA2 Keep Alive device to the blue common+ and the black DC negative to the pads of the factory installed TSU Soundtraxx decoder. The Keep Alive device will only power the DCC TSU Soundtraxx lightboard and not the motor. That's why you install the TCS KAT24 decoder to the motor and left and right rail power pickups. You can use the extra 4 wires coming off the KAT24 to wire LEDs to the not functioning taillights at the rear of the Metroliner and the non functionig white backup light.decoder. This eliminated the issue of the interior lights going off whenever there is a power interruption or you take the Walthers Metroliner off the track as long as the power interruption is not longer than 5-10 seconds and taking it off the powered track. This decoder has a feature called Keep Alive which if power is loss to the unit the battery will kick in for 5-15 seconds so the lights and motor will keep running. You can see some pictures of the Metroliners here at my Photobucket Page:http://s290.photobucket.com/user/coolio102/profile/

Perhaps I should post the nasty email you sent me.....so everyone can understand the level of maturity you posses?

Please don't bother.  I believe that I already have a good idea.
