Hi.
I need assistance in programming an ESU Lokpilot 4.0 #54611 which I have installed in an Atlas Trainman RS-36. I am using a MRC Prodigy Advanced 2 system. This is my first venture with a Lokpilot decoder and what I wish to do is have both front and rear lights on, bright in the direction of travel, rule 17 when stopped. Is this possible? I have combed the on-line literature available on the ESU web-site resulting in more confusion than clarification. Which CV's need to be manipulated in order to achieve this affect?
Thanks in advance.
Reinhard
All the best.

Figure 29 on Page 59 of the LokPilot manual, and subsequent examples on Page 60, explain how to configure the 6 CVs that control each light function.
Don'tcha love it when you've exhausted the manual completely confused and somebody tells you to read the manual ?
Try this setting ....
CV31 = 16, CV32 = 0
----------------------
CV263 = 156
CV271 = 156
CV's 31 and 32 are register CV's - be sure to set those first.

I'm just a dude with a bad back having a lot of fun with model trains, and finally building a layout!
Hi Mark.
Thanks for your assistance and all is working fine! I will use your answer and work backwards with the manual; in case future questions arise with the ESU decoder I have your answer as a formula.

Cacole,
Just so you know, I'm checking in on ESU good and bad things. I know you like them while you know I prefer Tsunami's so far. I will probably buy one of them programmed for the ES44--that sound file sounds pretty good.
