I just checked the rating for the supplier and they get a 100% poor rating. So I guess its a mistake.
If you use the link option, the site shows up right away.
That loco goes for less than $100.00 which I am sure you know.
I use to shop for computer electronics at Newegg but never some trains sold there. Weird.

One thing I have learned from colleting loco's is you never can tell how much it's worth. I've seen loco's on ebay that cost more than my first truck. That was only $400 (Dodge Ram) - but times change.
Been buying from ebay on occasion for some years. I see some paying exorbitant prices for stuff. Some times it is almost like some want to outbid someone else. lol
Still strange that the Newegg site came up and not the ebay site. How did you find that?

Hopefully Newegg kicks this seller out real soon, or it's going to hurt their reputation in a big way. They should be policing their marketplace sellers to prevent this kind of junk. I NEVER buy from any of them, I buy only things actually sold by Newegg. My order history with them is quite long, nearly every component of every computer in my house came from there. Never had any issues - but again, I buy the Newegg sold stuff, not from their marketplace vendors.

Looks like some of this stuff is loaded by a data feed - with no reality checks.
Randy, I agree with you Newegg should tighten up its 3rd party vendor participation - especially if they dont load the right prices.
Having said that - I think most Model Railroaders know what they should be paying for things they buy. I have used Newegg in the past and their stuff is usually very competitive.
Now if I only had $10,000 to buy that paint.... :-)

If you’re a fan of the pawn shop “reality” shows you know what people are asking and what their items will fetch on the open market can be over exaggerated- -to say the least!
I’m a buyer and a seller on eBay.
I just picked up a Bachmann DCC GP-40 for $53.00 (including shipping). It’s running in my strongest consist as I type this.
Currently I’m listing Bachmann analog (D/C) 8-wheel drive GP-40’s from $9.99 to $24.99. I’ve got analog F7A & B powered sets going for about $35.00. The Bachmann “single” powered truck unit’s I’ve listed between $5.99 to $14.99. The Athearn Blue Box units are going for about $25.00 a piece.
I’ve seen the same analog locos I’m listing priced upwards of what you’d pay retail for a brand new DCC unit from a local hobby shop with warranties.
Caveat Emptor!

I chickend out - for the first pass. I bought an Intermountain SD40-2 with DCC and LOKSOUND - so I can try-before-I-buy a conversion DCC decoder. In other words I would like to see what a factory produced loco can do before buying a decoder to replace my other DCC/sound locos.
I just hope it's cool. If not, I'm going for an intermountain NS heritage Nickle Plate ES44AC - which has the ditch lights that flash when the horn sounds.

Anywhere else you can find Bachmann passenger cars for $20-25 range. You just have to know what you're looking for and don't part with any cash until you are familiar with the market...

SO I actually made a comment for the $10,000 bottle of pant, and I got a reply from Newegg today. The email said the problem was corrected, and the actual price was $45.54 (!!!!!!!!!) and provided a link. The link took me to a different Marketplace seller who had it priced at a reasonable $5.54 (so the 4 in the email was likely a typo). But right below the price from this seller, under "Other buying options" was that Toysonics places with the jar of paint priced at 10 grand.
Everything is supply and demand. My wife would not pay a dime for any train stuff!!!!!!!

Well I tried the SD40-2 - which was no better than a Bachmann Sound Value.
So I went with the Intermountain NS Heritage Nickel Plate - WOW.
It has ditch lights, Number board lights, headlight, rear ditch lights and headlight (in reverse of course) all operational from a function key. The ditch lights flash on off on the front when the horn blows. You can mute the prime mover but still use the bell, horn. coupler clank, etc on mute mode.
Prime mover is just incredible - cant say how much better this loco is than the others I tried. The SD40-2 cost $180 - the Nickel Plate cost $194 - so for $14 bucks I got so much more to play with. The detail is incredible and no shine through with the headlight, or number board lights. The loco moves with smooth precision (right out of the box). Can't fault it.
Even the dim headlight switches slowly from bright to dim and vice-versa. Now that's cool.
Only $1,000? That's cheap! I saw a G-scale model of the Glacier Express locomotive advertised on e-Bay for $110,000.00 from Switzerland, with $18,000 shipping charge!
