hi
i hook up my mth ho crossings and they work well. but i'm having issues with the sensers. when a train passes one set of sensers the crossings gates turn on but when it passes over the second set at the other end the crossings stay on. now there 2 sensers per group. and i place one group of sensers at one end of the layout, and the second senser group at the other end since my layout is double track. i also play with senser senitvitiy and nothing changed. dose it matter how long the train has to be for it to work right?
I don't have the crossing signals you're talking about, but if the sensors are activated by the train passing over them, they are sensitive to your overhead lighting. If brighter lights are shining on one set than the other, maybe you need to adjust your lighting.
I use only infrared sensors pointed across the track instead of using visible light types.
LION operates SUBWAY TRAINS. him has no grade crossings.

I believe You need to re-read the instructions on placing the sensors. Should explain Your questions. I believe train length does matter with light sensors. They work best, with equal light source above sensors.
Take Care!
